Shinkansen past Tokyo, then on to Kyoto. Got our second glimpse of Fuji. It was always in the clouds. We did a stop in Tokyo station and getting on the Shinkansen to Kyoto.

After a long exhausting climb up hills with luggage, we made it to Yoshida Sanso. This a ryokan, or a traditional Japanese inn. This one was actually a former imperial villa, established in 1932. It was so lovely to see age of the place, with the wood panels, the tatami, the glass that kind of bends. We had three rooms, our bedroom, a relaxing room and a dining room. We also had our own private bath area where we would wash off and be able to sit in the warm bath. The hostess was so lovely here and everyone was very helpful and accommodating.
